Project Aria
Meta's egocentric AR research platform — and the project I've been tech lead on since 2023.
What it is
Project Aria is Meta Reality Labs Research’s platform for egocentric, multi-modal AI research. The glasses carry cameras, IMUs, eye-tracking sensors, and microphones — and the data they produce underpins research into AR, machine perception, and embodied AI.
What I do
I lead the Data & ML Libraries team, responsible for the open-source ecosystem that lets researchers around the world work with Aria data. That includes projectaria-tools (the core data access SDK), ATEK (the ML training and evaluation kit), and Aria Health Check (multi-sensor dataset QA tooling). Work from this project has been presented at ECCV 2024 and ICCV 2025.
